Hello Islanders!
It’s Tuesday, December 4th, 12:01 AM on the U.S. east coast. It’s time to tell us about the ‘promise’.
Here is the post to which you can submit, in the ‘comments’ section, your link to your piece now posted on your blog. Remember, post only the link to your work here — not the piece itself… and please make certain your link is accurate.
If you’re new, welcome ashore! More details of ‘How To Be An Islander’ are posted in the sidebar. If you’ve returned, a warm welcome back!
Writers Island belongs to us all. Please let us know what you want and need on the island to make it an enjoyable and nurturing experience.
What have you to share regarding “The Promise” — or whatever it is you have written? We’re all eager to hear! So let’s everyone get comfortable here on the island, and share our work.

This prompt is what I’ve been waiting (and needing) to write, but I’ve been too scared and it’s been too raw. But this feels right. Thank you for this space.

Hello my friends. I combined prompts this week and came up with a sestina poem. The ‘Promise’ is implied and is related to the season and other things. The poem is called ‘Tis The Season’ but it is not merry and bright.

Thank you again to those who sent their well wishes regarding my friend!
December 4, 2007 at 11:11 pm
Rob, though I haven’t been able to write much for this…I LOVE what you are doing. The community of poets and writers has grown so much. I have dropped by to visit almost every post I see, and frankly, I have been touched and inspired so many times by everyone’s sharing and writing. What a great community we have here! Thanks for keeping it alive. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to assist! I can write more during the holidays…in finals.
