WRITER’S LINK: “The Stranger”

Hello Islanders!

It’s Tuesday, 12:01 AM on the U.S. east coast. Here is the post to which you can submit your links in the comments section to your piece posted on your blog. Remember, only post the link to your work here — as a ‘comment’, and please make certain your link is accurate.

If you’re new, welcome ashore! The details of ‘How To Come Ashore’ are posted in the sidebar. If you’ve returned, a warm welcome back! Writers Island belongs to us all. Please feel free to let us all know what you want and need on the island to make it an enjoyable and nurturing experience. We all love to hear your suggestions — and each are considered.

It’s a cool evening, so we built a beach fire. Seems a perfect atmosphere to share your poem, prose, short story, essay, or commentary about “The Stranger” — whether it’s a tale of wonder, mystery, suspense, love, enlightenment… whatever you’ve created, even it its not about a stranger.

So, everyone find yourself a comfortable place in the firelight. There is food and drink for everyone — the kind that nourishes your spirit. Then later, stroll the beach and share your thoughts with your fellow islanders.

The new season is upon the island, and it looks beautiful! The breezes are gentle, and the fire is warming… so please, relax, express yourself, and let the breezes carry your words.

SHARE — fellow islanders! 😉

This is such a perfect topic to write stories on, if only I had the time. No such luck! So this will have to do from my end for this week. Hope to stop by and read everyone’s –

I’ll reading everyone’s posts after work — I can’t wait to see how we interpreted this one.

  12. Here is my find of the week. A very powerful poem by an upcoming writer; Kevin A. González. I really connected to this one and had to stop reading a few times and come back to it. Sometimes strangers are the people you live with.

  22. This is one I wrote back in July, but the subject matter seemed to fit so well. Sometimes we can become strangers to ourselves.

  38. I am having so much fun! I love the prompts! It is great to read what everyone else writes! The Stranger is becoming a longer story for me! ha HA !

    The Stranger

  39. Well, I started out trying to follow the prompt, but something else shouldered it out of the way: As the Drylands Burn, about the fires here in California.

My area is safe (though we’re all breathing the smoke), but my heart hurts for those who have lost their homes.

  40. Jo

well, I’m not happy about it myself (lesson learned: lack of time> don’t write!), but I posted it anyway… :
