9:00 AM Friday morning, March 21st, 2008, on the U.S. west coast, is quickly approaching — so… here I am with a new Prompt! This week’s, and the twenty seventh Writer’s Island prompt is: “Déjà vu”.
As always, I don’t want to sway your take on this week’s prompt. What inner chord might “Déjà vu” strike? Please share with us what resonates for you!
••> This week we turn to the wonderful new movie release, Under The Same Moon, as the source of our fifth Matinee Muse prompt — “Persistence”. See if that stirs your creative juices. The movie will stir your heart.
The Matinee Muse prompts are now a regular weekly offering. So please enjoy! <••
Feel free to use either, or both, of this week’s prompts — or use neither if you so choose. Whatever moves your soul this week is what we all want to read.
So, create your poem, prose, short story, essay, commentary, or whatever — and post it on your blog. Feel free to include recordings of you reading your work — and any photo, artwork, or graphic representation you feel is relevant.
When you have finished your piece, please return here to this post and place your link to your work as a comment — and as you know, just the link, not the piece.
Please realize there is no need to rush, this post will be open to receive your links for the entire week, leading up to the next prompt.
May your persistence with your muse, this week and every week, bring you the inspiration you need to write your best — to write your heart! We can’t wait to see what you have for us…
Here’s Evasions on the déjà vu theme.
Thanks for the prompts!

i posted this a few days ago…nothing to do with this week’s prompts, unless you note the persistance of the baby wanting to come into the world and inquisitive spirit….
A Mother’s Love
I will come back later and post something re. prompts…..xoxox Rebecca
I’m no longer a practicing Catholic, but I’m certainly a “cultural Catholic,” and I wanted to post something that pertained to the Easter Season. I chose the theme of “Persistence.”
THE PERSISTENCE OF FAITH
Richard, I wanted to post a comment on your blog last night but couldn’t get it to go through. Are only Mac users allowed for comments? That doesn’t seem correct.
My compliments to you on a great blog and excellent writing.

PS: I’m working on my first word prompt with Writer’s Island!
This is my submission to this week’s word prompt invitation, The Dollhouse:
Revisiting memories as a little girl; still so real and meaningful.
Thanks for the prompt and the site. Here’s mine…

Persistence and the Designer is up. Happy Easter everyone and I hope you all have a great weekend.
Hi all writers,
Please support Earth Day.
Have a great day,
happy easter,
Milou
Rob,
Poetry4kids has linked my poem Dancing comes full circle here. I had left a link of this on his blog to encourage his blog. He published it on his blog and has not credited to me in his blog.
I think, it should be deleted from here.
Gautami –
I quickly investigated, and you are correct. I have disabled the link to your piece which ‘Poetry4Kids’ had posted on the Earth Day project site, without giving credit to you. I left the URL link to the actual poetry4kids site.
Thank you for notifying me.

Hello Islanders –
I want to quickly touch on a point of creative rights. Sharing poetry here on Writers Island DOES NOT mean copying someone else’s piece, and reposting it on your site — unless you have been given specific permission to do so by the author, and you do the reposting in a manner approved by the author.
Please respect the creative rights of the original authors on this Island, and any other site you may visit.
Thank you all very much!

Thanks Rob, for disabling that link. I found poetry4kids link on Read write poem and thought of encouraging that 9 years old kid.
I left the link in the comment section. Milou moderates the comments. My link never showed up there and next I see, my poem is published on that blog without giving me any credits. And then I see it HERE when I came here to check for new links!
jeques poem is too published on Milou’s blog with no credits. And it was me who told jeques about the project!
I feel so bad about it. Imagine an almost 10-years old getting better of someone four times her age!
Should I laugh or cry?
Thanks, as always, for the inspiration. Here’s my
Déjà Views.
A sideways slant on “Déjà vu”.

Gautami and Rob,
I visited that site, and submitted a cotribution as Gautami encouraged me. Yeah, it’s just so sad. What’s worse, their are some errors made in my poem when it waw published on her site – I already left her a message to do some corrections and adjustments. Well, lessons learned.
Here’s my contribution for Déjà vu: Seeing My Reflections In Their Eyes
I wish you well.

Happy Easter to all Islanders!
Hello, I do not know how others do these so quickly…I seem to labor over them…
When you erase the original post and need to repeat a roundup of the ideas…well that is real “dejavue”

i do not write poetry much, find it quite hard actually since i took a poetry course a few years ago and it took all the fun out of it because now i dissect it so much making sure it reads as it should, that the Muse has gone on permanent vacation…but this one was one i wrote many years ago, pre-Muse-castoff, inspired by a dream…please be gentle, as I am among so many prolific and talented poets 🙂
A Dream Divine
Deja Vu 🙂 – perhaps this poem wold be deja vu…

I took a bit of a twist to these two prompts, and looked at one scene from two perspectives:

I’m pretty happy with what I came up with…what do you think?
My take on persistence (a little bit cheesy, but couldn’t improve it further)

WOW! This was obviously a popular prompt. Looking forward to reading everyone’s work. I used deja vu in my story.
