Prompt #5 for 2011: Illusion

Welcome to Writer’s Island.

We are pleased to now be in our fifth (5th) year here on the Island, providing writing prompts. New prompt(s) are posted every Saturday at 12:01 AM, U.S. East Coast Time. Consider the prompt in depth, then let inspiration carry you.

When you feel what you’ve written is ready to be read by the other Islanders, just post your link right here in the comments section at the bottom of this post. Please leave whatever expanded comment you wish as a part of your posted link. You can also reply directly to any other comment.

••> The fifth prompt for 2011 is “ILLUSION”, inspired by this interesting Dali image of a strange woman.

So as you contemplate reality, or your perception of it, let the word illusion spark your muse… or choose to go in your own direction with your piece this week. Just let yourself go with whatever it is that moves you to write.

Relax, respond to the prompt when you’re ready — or just leave a comment to say hi! As always, welcome to the the Island!!! 😉

My ‘illusion’ is a little more mod than Dali. A great prompt.

Saw an illusion in this picture prompt, but then life is illusion, from the economy, to romance, it is an essential part of humanity as it stands opposite of reality

    Maybe it’s more of DElusion?

  10. Beautiful blog with insightful prompts! I’ve got here a little late for this week, I guess, but I’ll participate next week!

Dalí is a beloved surrealist painter. =) Great image.

    Kisses!

  11. By a fluke of fate, the poem I wrote for Rallentanda is also on a similar theme, for remebering the past can often be illusiory. I spotted this illustration on the Ninotaziz post in Poetry Pantry, and didn’t see the female form at all, until I came here and you pointed it out! How dim was I?
