Welcome to Writer’s Island.
We are pleased to now be in our fifth (5th) year here on the Island, providing writing prompts. New prompt(s) are posted every Saturday at 12:01 AM, U.S. East Coast Time. Consider the prompt in depth, then let inspiration carry you.
When you feel what you’ve written is ready to be read by the other Islanders, just post your link right here in the comments section at the bottom of this post. Please leave whatever expanded comment you wish as a part of your posted link. You can also reply directly to any other comment.
••> OK, NaPoWriMo 2011 is now behind us, time to resume our weekly writing party here on the Island. The Week #19 prompt for 2011 is “SEASON”, inspired by this older collage of mine entitled “Seasons”.
After the rigors of creating a poem a day during April’s National Poetry Month here in the US, thought I’d keep it light and pleasant with a reflection on season. Where I live, Spring is late in coming and for those in the southern hemisphere, it’s Fall; but I think we all find the change of seasons welcome and refreshing, so take a deep breath, and wax on about one or all of them. And remember, season can have meanings beyond that of the cyclical calendar periods — so maybe surprise us.
Relax, respond to the prompt when you’re ready — or just leave a comment to say hi! As always, welcome to the the Island!!! 😉

Hello, all! I’ve seen some of my Island friends since last week, but it’s nice to be back here after the absence.
Rob…I want to say, again….thank you for the opportunity to have a place to post every day during NaPoWriMo…
To everyone else…you’re great! Thanks for the month-long hug of encouragement!
Here’s one I’ll post for now…it’s something I wrote in early March: The Seasons of Love.
Perhaps I’ll be back with a fresh post, as well…

Love this, Danny. Especially “Our house was full of holes we each wanted
