As you come ashore tonight, you will notice that the island has undergone a bit of a makeover. The new look is in response to requests from fellow islanders. Hope we all like the changes. Feel free to offer your impression.
This marks the start of our fourth week here on Writers Island. I trust we are continuing to get better acquainted with each other, and enjoying the wonderful writings shared here each week.
The prompt for this fourth week invites exploration and discovery. It examines the seductive call of the horizon, of the great ‘beyond’… be it a journey through the material world around us, or into the mind, the ‘spirit’ within us. It should be very interesting to see where each of us goes.
So dust off your traveling shoes, whether physical or metaphysical. Create your poem, prose, short story, essay, or commentary — and post it on your blog. Feel free to include recordings of you reading your work — and any photo, artwork, or graphic representation you feel is relevant.
Then return here Tuesday, October 2nd, at 12:01 AM, U.S. East Coast Time. A new post will be open for you to place the link to the piece you’ve written — and which you have posted on your site.
