WRITER’S LINK: “Haunted”

Hello Islanders!

It’s Tuesday, October 30th, 12:01 AM on the U.S. east coast. It’s the night before ‘All Hallows Eve’, ‘Samhain’, ‘All Souls Day’; a liminal time of the year when spirits can make contact with the physical world, and magic is most potent… ’tis the witching night before Hallowe’en — as we call it here on Writers Island!

Here is the post to which you can submit, in the ‘comments’ section, your link to your piece now posted on your blog. Remember, post only the link to your work here — not the piece itself… and please make certain your link is accurate.

If you’re new, welcome ashore! The details of ‘How To Come Ashore’ are posted in the sidebar. If you’ve returned, a warm welcome back! Writers Island belongs to us all. Please feel free to let us all know what you want and need on the island to make it an enjoyable and nurturing experience. We all love to hear your suggestions — and each are considered.

Well, wouldn’t you know — it’s a dark and stormy night here on Writers Island. Seems a perfect atmosphere to share your poem, prose, short story, essay, or commentary about “Haunted”! Whether it’s a tale of mystery, suspense, terror, or whatever you’ve created — tell us now… even if its not ‘haunted’.

So everyone — find yourself a comfortable place here under the big island shelter, and snug in close to the big fireplace. There is food and drink for all — the kind that nourishes your spirit. Then later, in the glow of the firelight, we can all share our thoughts with our fellow islanders.

The wind is moaning and the moon has disappeared behind a big black cloud. It’s very dark out there…

GIVE US CHILLS — fellow islanders! 😉

  28. here is mine; a poem by Robin Fulton, I liked the way it talks of the house building on itself; which reminded me of Rose Red (Stephen King) which was fashioned after the Winchester Mystery House. That Haunted show (you know the one) on Travel network did a halloween special inside the Winchester Mystery House on October 19th. I have not seen it; however we went to see the house a year or so ago and I placed a couple photos of it on the post. I have some more photos that I will put up later today (or tomorrow) (or the next day)

  29. The truer the story the more unbelievable it is.
