Welcome to Writer’s Island.
We are pleased to now be in our fourth (4th) year here on the Island, providing writing prompts. New prompt(s) are posted every Saturday at 12:01 AM, U.S. East Coast Time. Consider the prompt in depth, then let inspiration carry you.
When you feel what you’ve written is ready to be read by the other Islanders, just post your link right here in the comments section at the bottom of this post. Please leave whatever expanded comment you wish as a part of your posted link. You can also reply directly to any other comment.
••> The thirty fifth prompt for 2010 is “CELEBRATE”.
So reflect, awaken, embrace the season, and let the word celebrate spark your muse… or choose to go in your own direction with your piece this week. Just let yourself go with whatever it is that moves you to write.
Relax, respond to the prompt when you’re ready — or just leave a comment to say hi! As always, welcome to the the Island!!! 😉

Berowne, I couldn’t leave a comment at your site, but have to say, was so impressed not only with your story, but with the conversation that followed. Food for thought. And when someone mentioned the original blue suit, all I could think of was Jon Lovitz on Sat. Nt. Live as Hanukkah Harry, stepping in because Santa had the flu. He was dressed in blue and silver, traditional Hanukkah colors. It was a hoot! Peace, Amy
Thanks for the encouraging comment, SLP.

Glad I’m not the only one, Mary. Actually, some of us feel this way every year at the holidays… Sending you love and a hug, Amy

Uma, nice work, sorry I couldn’t comment on site, but Blogger and WordPress don’t seem to play well together. Will send you an email, but congrats on your villanelle. Very well done! Amy
OK, you know me. This might not be all fruitcake and candy canes…

As cited in blog, much lighter of heart than usual. Glad that my last poem of 2010 is here and at Jingle and Poets United as well…
Happy New Year, y’all!
