Prompt & Link: “Magic”

______________________________________________________________________________________

NOTE: We enjoyed the largest response in quite a few weeks to last week’s prompt — so I’m going to stay with the new changes here on Writer’s Island, which had been suggested by a number of Islanders. It does seem to be making things easier for most, if not all. Please read the new simpler procedures in the sidebar.

It’s approaching 9:00 AM Friday morning, February 1st, 2008, on the U.S. west coast — so here I am with a new Prompt!

This week’s, and the twentieth Writer’s Island prompt is: “Magic”.

Again, I’m not going to make any suggestions how you might approach this week’s prompt. I am hoping you will simply free associate with “Magic”, and let your muse take you from there. Surprise us!

What moves you this week is what we all want to read.  So, create your poem, prose, short story, essay, commentary, or whatever — and post it on your blog. Feel free to include recordings of you reading your work — and any photo, artwork, or graphic representation you feel is relevant.

When you have finished your piece, please return here to this post and place your link to your work as a comment — and as you know, just the link, not the piece.

Please realize there is no need to rush, this post will be open to receive your links for the entire week, leading up to the next prompt.

May this, and every week, bring a little magic to your life — and may your muse be kind! We can’t wait to see what you write…

  12. Hello Islanders, I’m back!

    Here’s my Dawning Magic

A few of you know the passing away of my father and my coming home to the Philippines – the reason for my absence here for quite awhile. I would like to thank everyone who dropped by my nook and left kind words that help ease my grief. I would like to share with you the piece I delivered during my father’s necrological rites as my way of saying Thank You

    I wish you all well.

    ~ Jeques

    Hello gentle Islanders –

So pleased to see you here each week, and I love you all. Just a caring nudge to remind you to please do your best to enter your link info accurately in the comments section of each prompt.

I end up fixing a few each week, and I will always do so, I do not mind. But the fewer I have to fix, the more time I have to be creative… 😉

With warm regards to each of you!

    Your friendly Island moderator,
    Rob

  38. This one I just posted for another writing site, yet is very applicable to this theme. The MAGIC of finding that one person that will show you the kind of love you deserve. In this case, in the form of a man’s best friend and his owner.
