Welcome to Writer’s Island.
We are pleased to now be in our fourth (4th) year here on the Island, providing writing prompts. New prompt(s) are posted every Saturday at 12:01 AM, U.S. East Coast Time. Consider the prompt in depth, then let inspiration carry you.
When you feel what you’ve written is ready to be read by the other Islanders, just post your link right here in the comments section at the bottom of this post. Please leave whatever expanded comment you wish as a part of your posted link. You can also reply directly to any other comment.
••> The twenty sixth prompt for 2010, “EMERGE”, inspired by this image.
•••••
You can let yourself be inspired by this week’s word itself. What are the levels of meaning one might attach to the word ‘EMERGE’? For example: become manifest, become known, rise from, come into view, come into being, evolve from, come up, crop up, arise, materialize, spring up, surface, appear, show up, turn up, come about, or to transpire.
Or let this spellbinding surreal image from Winification evoke in you the inspiration to write. Hold it for a while in your mind’s eye, then whatever it is that strikes you as you view, express it.
So, the word ’emerge’ and it’s numerous meanings, or the image itself — whichever sparks your muse… or choose neither for your inspiration, and instead, go in your own direction with your piece. Just let yourself go with whatever it is that moves you to write.
Relax, respond to the prompt when you’re ready — or just leave a comment to say hi! As always, welcome to the the Island!!! 😉
Taking a much needed break this weekend. See ya next week =)

Enjoy yourself Weasel… 😉

Hackneyed can prove interesting Brenda… 😉

This prompt is so well organized and clear. Thank you guys for that.
Thank you B for sharing your story, and you are welcome — we’re pleased the prompt, and its presentation, resonated well for you… 😉
I’ve doubled up on my prompts this week so unless I’m breaking a protocol of prompting here, you’ll find an emergence by clicking on my name above.
We do our best to avoid rules and protocols Dick, the world has way too many as it is — suggestions are as deep as we wade into the structure pool… like I suggest you visit the Island often, and that you enjoy yourself when you do… 😉
Mine is a poem – “Moonlit Night”
I am really late with my post … been busy with friends.
Thanks for the prompt.
